A five star 400 bedroom hotel located near Doha Airport with a approximate gross built up area of 43,135 M2, consisting of a basement, ground and first floor podium plus two 6 storey towers (B+G+7) and one of the largest atriums in Qatar.
Scope of work includes substructure, super structure, architectural, MEP, finishes and associated external networks for the hotel
The Plant consists of a 1,300 KMTA ethylene plant. The prime function of the Plant is to deliver polymer grade ethylene to derivative plants.
GHC “Scope of WORK” in Project involves Engineering, Procurement and Construction of the buildings and site arrangement.
1. Administration Building : G+1 Building is framed concrete structure comprising of Main office area, reception , Dining facility, training rooms and a small infirmary (Medical facility). Building has a landscaped central open courtyard with a fountain.
2. Fire House Building : Building is combination of Steel structure and concrete frame and has space for 8 fire tenders on ground floor with fire man lockers and associated storage.
3. Security Centre : Building is a Ground only framed concrete structure housing security pass offices and security monitoring offices etc.
4. Mosque : Mosque is a Ground only framed concrete structure and has a prayer hall which can accommodate 75 people during prayers.
5. Change house This ground only concrete framed structure will provide locker and wash facility to workers of the Plant.
6. Vehicle Maintenance Building : This Ground only structure is a combination of Steel structure and concrete frame. This building houses the general maintenance workshops and vehicle washing bays along with associated office space.
7. Maintenance warehouse : This steel structure building acts as Main warehouse and store for the plant.
8. Outdoor Open storage area : This steel structure building is used for open storage needs of Plant.
9. Ancillary structures & External Network: Ancillary structures in SP5 area include Car parking, Lifting pits for various services and Building area containerized substation. External network also include Uncontaminated, Sanitary, Fire water, Drinking water, pressure & gravity pipelines, Electrical/Instrumentation cable pulling, Instrumentation pulling pits, Cable trenches & duct banks, Street lighting poles, Earthing Network, De-sander/oil sewer/neutralisation pits, Drains & ditches, Road works, Walkways, Pavements, Fuel station, Irrigation network, Landscaping etc.
10. CCR BUILDING : This building falls under blast zone and has been designed as concrete structure to resist a blast overpressure of 4PSI. Building houses Control room and associate offices with conference and dining facility. Main control room had special finishes dictated by an Ergonomic consultant which included sound absorbent wooden wall panels etc.
11. LAB BUILDING : This blast proof structure is adjacent to CCR Building and houses laboratory spaces for process plant testing.
12. SUB STATION 1 & SUBSTATION 2 : These two main substations are located in the Plant area. Buildings are Concrete framed structure with steel roofs for transformers. Main transformer room is on a raised level and space below is used for Cable vault.
13. FIELD CENTRE (2 Nos.) : These blast proof structures are located within plant and are rest shelters for Plant workforce.
14. BUILDING OBSERVATION (2 nos.) : These two structures are mainly single room buildings meant for Plant operational purposes.
6 US Departure Gates
This project was started on 14th July 2008 & Completion date is due 9 January 2009.
This current departure set up at DIA is being changed to include for the expansion of an additional 6 US departure gates. The project will be carried out on a fast track basis whilst maintaining a fully operational Airport.
GCC are constructing a steel framed structure that will be clad in aluminum panels and have a curtain wall to the external elevation. The client is supplying the internal Kone made escalators.
New Transit Passenger Facility
The project Started on 25th August 2008 and due for completion on 20th Febuary 2009.
This project is the construction of a Completely new Transit terminal at the East Apron. It Is a steel structure with external aluminum and glass cladding. Like all projects on the DIA it is a fast tracked project. Internally there will be a refreshment area. There will be waiting areas and departure gates. Externally GCC will create a road system allowing for the free movement of the transit buses around the area.
Premium Terminal Expansion
The project started on 8th September 2008 and due for completion on 19th February 2009.
This project involves an extension to the current Premium lounge for Qatar Airways. The works involve the lounge extension at first floor level. The ground floor will allow for vehicle movements below the new structure. Internally GCC will install new flooring and wall finishes to the current high standards already present.GCC will firstly create the new structure along with completing the project to approx 90% of the targets then we will connect to the existing structure completing the remaining 10 % of the works. This is all whilst the existing structure continues to be used.
Al Khaliji Bank is the first of a new generation of banking to operate in Qatar and the Middle East. Its main market is dedicated to affluent and high net worth individuals.
The new Al Khaliji Branch on C ring road incorporates state-of-the art technology in a very customer friendly way. The branch is an embodiment of the Al Khaliji brand and the design gives a fresh approach to banking never yet seen before in Qatar and the Middle East.
The project was a 400 sqm, refurbishment over two floors in the existing Qsoft building in Doha Qatar.
The project was completed within a 10week programme from early June to early August 2008.
The specifications of many materials used on the project were specially procured from Europe. Igazzini lighting Italy was installed throughout the project. Whilst specialist leather was prepared and died prior to being imported from Scotland. All furniture was supplied by Bene from Austria. In all this gave the project very fresh and high standard finish.
The challenge for GCC was grasping the client’s ethos as the concept design was something far removed from traditional banking that is seen in Qatar and the Middle East as whole. GCC gave a great deal of time, effort and flexibility when assisting the client and designers. In many cases GCC proposed design changes to the project that the client put into action with great success.
The project was fully completed and handing over to the client ion 2nd August 2008. The following day on the 3rd August 2008 the branch opened its doors. It received a great deal of enthusiastic press coverage and is seen as major success not only by the client but also GCC.
QNB HQ 2nd floor completed late March 2008 part of the on going refurbishment of the QNB Head Quarters this floor has a dealing room as the central feature with a fully glazed wall with a Walnut Portal surround installed by GCC Joinery company Al Manjara site engineer Sunil Dabeer
QNB HQ 3rd floor completed early July 2008 part of the on going refurbishment of the QNB Head Quarters on this floor is the EGM's office a small dealing room and open office space the 3rd floor is slightly different in design and finish with a number of walls having marble finish and Wenge timber finish being used more than the standard finish for the building Zebrano with the timber portal to the dealing room being Walnut site engineer Sunil Dabeer.
Fourth & Fifth floors completed by early January 2009.
The project, conisting of 5 nos primary electrical substations, is situated in Pearl of Qatar. Substations are designed to cater for the power needs of entire Pearl of Qatar.
All these substations' building structures have cable basement cellar, ground floor and first floor with 66 KV GIS room/ 11 KV switchgear room, control rooms and relay rooms having security features like CCTV and card access doors along with 275/60 MVA transformers.
In order to make these buildings blend with the surrounding buildings, architectural features like high quality stone cladding, pitched roof and double glazed arch windows are privided with pleasing landscaped surroundings.
Renovation to the existing branch to the newly specified QNB standard design. Qatar National Bank moved into a branch within City Centre that Gulf Contracting Co. constructed as a temporary measure. This allowed us to create the new branch. The branch has been extended at the rear to create a bigger foot print. Installation will consist of glass partitions for the meeting rooms. A new vault room location. New design teller counter’s with stacked glass. The ceiling is gypsum with hanging ceiling features in stainless steel. Walls will be clad with a mixture of wall paper and blue glass. The flooring will be grey polished marble. This will be then finished off by relocation the 3 external ATM machine’s to a new housing.
GHC have been instructed to restore the 2 storey villa into a training centre. The renovation is both internal and external. The project was initially replacing a few doors and some minor civil works. This remit was then changed to a full refurbishment of the building. The project started some 8 months ago but was interrupted by the change in project brief. The building has 2 floors plus roof space. The ground floor will consist of the entrance lobby, reception, counter and training rooms. These rooms will be used by QNB to train staff for various roles. The floor finishes are ceramic tiles with black marble skirting. Stainless Steel Stair handrails and the same for the external balcony. Glass wall feature details and painted walls are then carried through to the first floor with the same specific finishes.
This was a design and built project. Project consisted of designing and building 6 nos 66/11 KVA Substations including all MEP Services and Landscaping at West Bay area. Each building had plinth area of approximately 900 M2 consisting of basement for Cable entry, ground floor accommodating 66/11 KVA Switchgear rooms, Transformer Yard, AC/DC room & battery rooms. First floor consists of Control & Relay room. These substations are located amongst High rise buildings at West Bay area and are designed aesthetically. Stainless steel mesh, steel pergolas/sails and glazing are used to enhance the beauty of the buildings.
The New Nissan State of Art car showroom is one of the biggest showrooms in the Middle East and the largest showroom in Qatar. The Ground, Mezzanine floors houses three international prominent brands Nissan, Infinity & Renault with the capacity of 60 cars. The basement has a storage capacity of more than 70 cars. A high multi functional Ball Room is constructed with the latest Audio and Video Technology and finishes. First Floor is having more than 60 Office Rooms to accomodate nearly 150 staff with prayer halls, cafeteria and three conference halls and utilities.
Newly build banking facility building consisting of basement, ground floor and upper floor admeasuring total floor area 960m2. Ground floor serves as retail Bank with a separate Sadara unit whereas basement is used as carpark and upper floor as offices.

The project awarded to Siemens – Doosan joint venture is a combined power and water plant,owned by the Ras Laffan Power Company (RLPC). The new Power plant has a capacity of 1025MW export, at 50 Degree Celcius ambient temperature and the new water plant has a net water capacity of 60 MIGD (Million Imperial Gallon per Day).

This prestigious project, comprised of a Central Energy Plant Building as well as the Infrastructural services and road works for the Asian Games Village / Hamad Medical City in Doha. Gulf Contracting Co. W.L.L. was assigned the task of executing the civil scope of works by TRAGS who were the main contractor for the project. Our project team under the leadership of Project Manager Mr. K.B. Reddy and Construction Managers, Mr. Shaikh Saleem and Mr. Daxesh Dani successfully accomplished the project scope of works in time for the Asian Games event of December 2006. The design consultants were M/s. FEDCON and the Project Management consultants were M/s. Hill International. The Ministry of Municipal and Agricultural Affairs was the client.
The civil subcontract work related to sub structure & super structure for “COLLEGE OF TECHNOLOGY PACKAGE-2” is awarded to Gulf Housing & Construction from United Engineers (Malaysia) Berhad as Main Contractor, with KEO International Consultant as Project Manager and College of Technology, State of Qatar as client. The building consist of Zone-I, having Auditorium, Entry Building (2nos), College of Technology Head Quarters & Academic preparatory Control Building spread in an area of 15,000 sqm and with additional work of obelisk structure, and 11 nos Secondary Substation, Ribbon wrap (11 nos) foundation all over the project.
All of the building has Ground + 2 storey structure with all level waffle slab & interconnecting corridor to all building. The Structure is built to receive high quality finishes of stainless steel, concrete precast panel, glass cladding on top of R.C.C structure. Big auditorium and 4 nos of theatre with all concealed services provided to receive all ultra modern facilities by co-ordinating all interfacing of all other sub contract works. font>
